Lasgaire
Lasgaire was born May 14, 2011
A registered bull, Lasgaire loves romping in the lower meadow at the Rockin' JC Ranch, hanging out with his pal Frosty, the steer.
The girls
We are happy to announce the addition of 4 new cows to our herd! Please welcome Reesa, Ava, Amie & Anie. (Amie & Anie are twins!)
Reesa gave birth to a girl, Smokey, on July 28th, 2013. She is a beautiful smokey grey (dun) color.
Blue Roan Galloway Cattle
We also welcome a new Heritage breed animal to the Rockin' JC Ranch. Another type of beef cattle popular in the Highlands of Scotland. Gigi joined our herd on Sept. 5, 2013.
Red Wattle Hogs (We do not have pork available at this time)
Our Red Wattle hogs are hand raised, hand fed, free range pigs. We feed them all natural, non chemical feed and they are hormone free. This feeding program and lifestyle produces a better quality pig and meat!
Red wattle meat is leaner than commercial pork, free of chemicals and hormones, with a taste sought after by chefs all over the country.
Red wattles are grazers, so they can be turned loose onto the meadows. They're finished-up eating acorns from our gamble oak, giving the meat additional flavor. Red Wattle pork is exceptionally lean and juicy with a rich beef-like taste and texture.
The key to cooking heritage meats is to cook it at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
Just think slower and lower!
